Humbridge
Humbridge is a all-year round remake of our TFConnect 2022 contest entry, Humburg, which won second place due to an interesting use of the tree model, a unique power-up mechanic, and a fun intersecting layout.

Humbridge was originally designed for the 2022 TFConnect mapping contest, where you had to make a level in 20 days using TFConnect’s Smissmas tree model, and somehow incorporate it into the map’s gameplay.
We went on to win second place, (surprising to me due to the level being for Mann vs Machine), due to a unique intersecting map layout for MVM, the interesting use of the tree as the objective to defend, and a custom power-up system.
I was in charge of the layout and art-passing as usual, and when it came time to work on Humbridge, I wanted to use it as a chance to learn how to 3D model and improve my custom texture-work. Because of this a large focus was put on refining these skills, so I can potentially use them in later projects.
The map is split between two routes which intersect. One goes over a bridge, and the other goes under onto a trainline.
